Ah Christmas! It brings all the warm and fuzzies doesn’t it, those summer feels and festive cheer 𑁋 but it can also bring an underlying state of panic and craziness.
We want to help you feel a little more prepared for it.
So…
If you’re a little behind the eight ball with prepping the workplace for Christmas then grab a coffee and have a read of our five ideas to make things a little more festive.
1. Get those decs up.
This first place to start is being visually festive. Yes, we’re talking decorations! and although some might think they’re not worth the hassle, they really do give an instant festive feel that people will love.
So dive into the storage cupboard, or get along to Farmers, Spotlight or the dollar store and grab a selection of decs to put up around the place. It’s not only for customers when they walk in the door, decorations can give staff a moral boost around a potentially busy, stressful time. And they just put a smile on your face, don’t they?!
2. Help staff be merry.
Christmas decorations, staff room treats and coffee on tap 𑁋 there’s no better time to spoil the staff than Christmas time. They’re all working hard to meet deadlines, or to serve customers in a busy time so now is the time to show appreciation and bring in the merry mood. And if time allows, what about throwing together a lunch time christmas quiz for some fun.
3. Festive treats.
If a customer walks in and has a touch of the holiday stresses, imagine what you could do for their day if you had some chocolate treats or christmas cookies on offer. For some it’s a hectic time of year so go the extra mile and get some festive treats in for your customers. A little treat goes a long way, and that customer will remember it especially if it’s delicious.
4. Prep for the new year.
You don’t want to come back to last year’s mess, so before you lock up for the final time this year, make sure the place is looking tidy and everything is where it should be. You’ll be so thankful when you walk in the door for the first time in a brand new year and the place is clean and tidy.
5. Get your supply orders in.
It would be a disaster if you ran out of tea and coffee in what could be your busiest time. Your workplace has potential to have more visitors, and more staff social time, so check your stock levels now and get your orders in so you’re not left high and dry. We’re open right up until Christmas eve and will do our very best to get you supplies as quickly as possible.
Getting in the Christmas spirit can be a little daunting when you think about it as a whole. Just bite off little bits at a time, and in a week’s time you’ll be up and running with a whole lot of festive cheer! Time to go all out!
